From scheduling start dates to navigating survey snags, every home improvement project is bespoke. At Outside Interests, our project managers keep the process moving smoothly with a balance of clear scheduling, transparent updates and practical timelines.
The schedule of works: old-school meets digital
Once your build has been surveyed, a personalised Schedule of Works is produced, giving a clear breakdown of every phase, from groundwork to glazing.
Project Manager Jack Lerwill says, “We still use T-cards (coloured tabs) on a physical board in the office to track project status and progress. It might seem old-school, but it means any of our team can glance at it and instantly know where things stand. That traditional chart is backed by digital tracking which we share directly with the customer so they know what’s happening, when and who will be on site.”
Planning around you
A common concern for customers is disruption or tricky access routes, for example, for mid-terraced houses or narrow drives. But the team plans for this during the first site visit. Jack says, “For a recent a mid-terrace project with access through a 200-metre alleyway along the back row of houses, we pre-planned access before our first day on site. Whatever the challenge, we always find a way.”
